What duck to get?

So I want to start incubating duck eggs as a got a Mini Advance Brinsea incubator for my birthday. We don't have a pond so they wouldn't be able to swim

I have 2 ayelsburys at the moment and and they have a small pond that they can sit in and just splash around and have a wash but not big enough for them to have a swim in. I thought about going into the duck breeding business as I have alot of space over my nans where the Ayelsburys are now. As the incubator I have only holds 7 eggs and they probably won't all hatch i should have enough space for them. Just to start off with i want to get some cheap eggs that hatch sweet little duckies that don't need to swim much and not very loud. If the swimming is a problem I could always buy a small sand pit or paddling pool if it would be big enough. What ducks do you think would be best to start off with?

Would kind of ducks do you like? For first time hatching, I would stay away from Calls, as I've heard they can be difficult to hatch.

Other than that, I would just go with a breed that you like.

As far as swimming, ducks don't have to have a pond, but they love to swim. I would just get them a little kiddie wading pool and they'll be happy with that.

P.S. I have a Brinsea Mini Advance and really like it.

Okay, thanks! I thought I would stay away from calls too! I have heard that they are very loud and I don't want then to disturb the neighbours or my nan when they move over there. I really like miniature silver apple yards. As it's my first batch I am trying to get eggs under £10 plus postage because I will most likely go wrong knowing me!

The ducks I hatched I got the eggs here on BYC in the buy/sell/trade forum. I got Saxony ducks, did some research and they are considered a rare breed. Pretty duck, rather large but not HUGE. Nice long bills, peck through shells easily.
