WHAT ELSE CAN POSSIBLY LIVE IN MY *&%*#&%*# COOP WALLS?!

What you found wouldn't surprise me. Scorpions and red wasps even get in our house, and the house next door was found to have a lot of brown recluse spiders inside. The worst was when I found a rattlesnake on a card table one day while I was eating lunch.

I hope you have a better experience than I did trying to find someone to take some honeybees. They were in the wall of my mother's house, which we're fixing up to sell. I went on line, contacted the state honeybee association, etc. I contacted local beekeepers, and NO ONE was interested. A relative recently sprayed them. I just hated for them to be killed, but I tried my best. What with all of the mites and "disappearing hive syndrome," I was shocked that no one was interested in saving them.

I hope you're able to get things cleared out.

Yeah, I looked around for someone.. but I haven't got a lot of time and I can't wait around for a beekeeper to decide he wants them, so unfortunately I'm going to have to spray them with the foam tonight... I'll just spray in all the holes, it expands and its residual so they'll all die, and we'll spray again tomorrow. I have wasps to get rid of as well in another part of the coop, its like a bloody little ecosystem in there and unfortunately I can't save everyone!

They found that some bees were carrying a bacteria or fungus that was causing them to die. That was why we didn't have very many for a couple of years. Some areas, like here where I live in Ohio are doing much better this year. I can't walk outside barefoot without stepping on one. Great for the flowers and garden.

BUT- did u ever think that mabye the bees inside of her coop were carying that virus thingy? and by spraying them it is keeping them from contaminating other bees? huh? so maybe she did the world a favor

even tho that thats all a slim chance.. but who knows! she could have just saved half of canadas bee population by destroying the virus ridden bees in her coop.. persay.

All hives carry a heavy viral load. The problem is something in the environment is compromising their immune system and they can't withstand all of it. It's a complicated issue compounded by the 10,000 pound elephant in the middle of the room no one wants to talk about.....agricultural chemicals, specifically imidocloprid.

Haha, anything is possible! ... They're getting angry now, and I really can't risk it given that my brother has never been stung by a bee or wasp and we're not sure if he's allergic or not, also ... MY CHICKENS NEED SOMEWHERE TO LIVE REAL SOON, so tomorrow the exterminator is coming out to get rid of them, and it's a shame... but TBH I don't think we're exactly lacking in a bee population in my immediate area, and we called the local bee keeper who said he didn't want them since they could bring disease or something into his existing bee universe (these are my descriptions lol).

SEE!! told ya

they might be all contaminated.. and your chicken come before bees, they lay eggs. bees sting and stuff, but they do polinate and make hunny, but chickens are less dangerous

Yes but other insects pollinate as well... I was recently informed that MOSQUITOS pollinate! ... We can't be doing badly, our apple trees are fruiting, and our pear trees. My chicks are 5 weeks old, next week they start grower and soon enough they'll be 8 weeks, and honestly they need somewhere to live more than some bees.
