What exactly did you Google (search engine of your choice) to get here?

I was new to chickens and was googling “Colombian Rocks” because I had some and wanted to see how others looked in comparison. I clicked on a media post from BYC and in the description the person had written a question about the bird/breed (can’t remember which) and I knew the answer and wanted to reply to them. I never did figure out how to comment on it (probably could now), so I never actually put in my two cents there, but I got completely hooked otherwise. I was pretty young, but also knew a lot about chickens, so I was always trying to answer questions. I also met several good friends including @MissNutmeg who was actually the very first person to welcome me, and who I became very good friends with in real life (we have gotten together a few times, and we talk everyday!)! I’ve enjoyed my time here and hope to stay long into the future

I googled why my chicken couldn’t walk. Then I googled maggots on chickens(now I know it’s called flystrike). Then I googled cecal worms. Then I googled a broken beak. All within a two month period. Everything led me here!
I know this makes me sound like an awful chicken parent but I rescued a young pullet from a situation that she most certainly would have starved to death in. I had no previous chicken experience. I’m happy to report she has tackled every hurdle thrown her way and is now very happy and healthy. She is getting a friend for her in a week!

I really can’t remember much about it. I know I searched “Colombian rock rooster” into google but I just did that and there about 6000 that link to BYC sooo that’ll take some sifting lol

voted other. I’m thinking it was “roux dilute quail genetics” that lead me to a discussion thread, which further lead me to a quail hatch along thread where, for the last few months, I learned so much as I poured through 3,500+ pages. So many enlightening and informative side tangents!

I try to steer clear of google but I found BYC when I was trying to find information on chickens with worms.
