My first "Google" was chickens in general. This was years before getting chickens, I just knew it was going to happen. And after getting chickens, I remembered the website (its an easy name to remember!). I wanted the website for emergencies. Unfortunately, after making my account, life got busy... a couple months ago I remembered I had made an account and thought it would be good to help others out if they need it.

Welcome back!

Well, I first found it by researching chickens. Sping this year two wild Mallards showed up for the second year. I grew a strong bond with them, they followed me around and they ate out of my hands. Of course I fell in live with them so I did research on ducks. I eventually became instead in domestic ducks so to learn more and share information I made an account!
The people here are very helpful, friendly, and hilarious!

A lot of us accidentally found BYC by Googling something.
What did you Google?
It was late May this year and I was researching the alternatives to heat lamps for the chicks I was getting in June. When you look up chicken questions usually someone on BYC has asked that and so it comes up as a google result. I was looking into Radiant Heaters, so a question on them was the first google result. This kept happening every time I looked into somethings- Breeds, Tempermants, RHs, All the things I didn’t know about chicks (it had been two years) I learned a LOT and I’m almost a brooder-chick expert because of it
Anyway, I needed to ask a question, one day- June 21, and so I decided to make an account. Assuming I would only use it once I made my user name CHlCKEN, the simplest thing I could come up with (it is spelled with a lower case L instead of an I) but after I asked i question, I saw another question from someone else and decided to answer it. I continued to open BYC every once and a while when I was bored, to see if people had replied or if I could answer someone’s question. After a while I became attached and that’s where we are now! I’m on all the time and I’ve made some new friends here, and learned so much

thanks to everyone on BYC your my fo-to people when I’m feeling down!

(oh and @Kiki I think I’m going to paint a wooden 53 for my chicken run redesign- just for good measures )

I believe that I first stumbled upon this good site back when I was searching for a way to help Komugi's egg binding ailment. It has been a while, however, and my memory has faded somewhat.
I created my account on here when I required specific aid for an issue concerning Spook -- the lad kept standing only to stumble backwards, and it made me worry gravely.
Hitherto, I have simply remained in order to mingle with the Nutters and help those whom I believe that I can help.
This site has verily been of much use and entertainment to me, and I offer my gratitude to the good people who run it.

So...my story...I was googling " egg cartons for sale". I know, it seems absolutely crazy, but BYC popped up. Needless to say I joined not long after, and soon I was introduced to the real life nutters in one of @Kiki's threads. Somehow they trapped me into joining their thread, and I spend a lot of time there, although I try to greet new members (Sunday seems to be my best day) and try to help others whenever I can, although my expertise is very limited. I have learned so much though, and people are so helpful. I love it!!!
