Dumb question i am sure - but what exactly is an Easter Egger? Isnt it really jsut an Americauna? And if not - what are they a mix of and what color eggs do they generally lay?
Thanks!

An Easter Egger is a mutt that lays blue/green eggs. It is not a breed.

A specific mutt? Or you just come across a hen that lays colored eggs? so people dont or cant specifically breed these?

I think it depends on who you ask whether they're a mutt, or not.

As long as the chicken carries the blue/green egg gene it is considered an Easter Egger. If you take an EE roo and breed to a Buff Orp hen the chicks shoud lay blue/green eggs, how is that a breed?

Yes you can breed them, it is the roo that passes on the gene if I'm not mistaken. If you breed an EE roo to another breed of hen you should get blue/green egg laying chicks.
