Hi,
my favorite hen died and while her sister is alive id like to try and reproduce her or find a mix of chickens to get her feather patterns.
i got some feathers from the white one so you can see a close up since they blend in so well on bigger pictures. they come from a very mixed batch.
i think there is some australorp, maybe Orpington, Rhode Island Red.

Any clues to what mix this might be? it looks like the vayne of a welsummer and its peppers?
sorry for the dead hen pics buts its the only one i have of her, didn't think to take more since she was around 2 years young and healthy.

Sorry about your hen. The dead one is what many would call ginger. The top one could maybe be considered double laced silver but it's definitely not a standardized variety. A lot of Easter Eggers are ginger like the hen you lost, so I would use some EE stock to get look alikes

Thanks. Ive been looking at a lot of videos and i have seen similar looking EEs. ive hatched, i think, 2-3 eggs from these 2. i hope one of the hatched was from the dead ginger one.
But ill see if i can replicate this. i have 2 other chickens that are similar. but ill look for double laced silver to breed next year with the white one.

im guessing the white is unique since its like a white h on its feathers

any recommendations on what type of rooster to breed with that white chicken? i have recently got black and white jersey giants, light brahmas, and buff orpingtons. Are there certain breeds/colors that are the recessive so this hen's feather pattern will be the dominant gene

Both hens are black australorps x buff orpingtons. To get more that look like that, either do the cross again, or cross your silver hen to a solid buff chicken (like a buff orp).
