Hi,
I'm using these hanging baskets, but a considerable amount of feed just lands on the ground. Are there better ones?

Go to TSC website and look up goat feeders they hang and have a metal part that comes down over the top with head holes so less feed is wasted these are heavy black plastic and have to hang over something. Work great for chickens too.

That's good for chicks, and raising the feeder gradually as the birds grow does help, as does hanging it from the ceiling.
I use the yellow plastic feeders from Premier, and like them a lot. Less billing out, inexpensive, sturdy.
I'm not into building my own feeders, although that's another option. IMG_0427 (1).JPG Mary

I have switched to rubber livestock bowls. They can’t scratch out all the food easily and don’t tip them as easily as some other containers I’ve tried. How many chickens you are trying to feed will make a big difference in what sort of setup might be appropriate. I also choose to only feed what the chickens will eat in one day. This way they eat any spilled feed off the ground and there is less waste and less feeding the wildlife.
