What gauge hardware cloth for run?

What gauge hardware cloth is best for keeping dogs out, I have two lab mixes plus other dogs in the area. I had to line my grow out coop with upright pallets due to the hardware cloth I had not being much of a barrier. I plan on building my big coop in the next couple weeks and will electrify the fencing, but want added protection if the solar panel loses charge. I can not run an extension cord to the coop as it will be a half acre from the house.

I used 1/2"x1/2" 19 ga on the bottom two feet , with 2"x4" welded wire over top of that for the entire fence itself. Seems to be doing all right , its been up for almost 3 yrs with no incidents to speak of.
