As for the breeding, what are you wanting? If you are wanting more blues, then breed the black to blues. From what I've read, this gives you better quality blues. If you want some more splashes, then breed the splash to the blue girl.

If they will all get along with my big Cochin roo, I'd love to keep the splash and one of the black roos. I already have a black hen and one here plus the blue one. And I have an incubator! What more could I want? Well, all pullets but that's okay.

That is good to know. I put my Ameracuana rooster in with the cuckoo Marans hens & was hoping for Olive eggers. If not my next try would be my Black Copper Marans rooster over my Ameracuana hens. Does it matter?...... I was told by a breeder to use my BCM rooster to cover my Ameracuana hens. Genetically, does it matter?Karen in Turlock California

All these roos = me picking out the best ones and blessing a few people with the others! I was initially bummed that the splash was a boy but now I'm happy about ALL the possibilities! This genetic stuff is fascinating and confusing but I'm up for the challenge! And I know I have BYC if I get over my head!
