What gender? Blue English Orpingtons

At 14 weeks, any of your birds with a red comb are going to be cockerels. So far, all on this thread are male.

I am in the Lanett, Valley (AL) and West Point (GA) area, right on the AL/GA border where I-85 crosses the state line. I'm about 30 miles NE of Auburn.

I have four pure bred English Blue Orpington roosters I want to re-home. These are "large breed fowl" birds and are 18 weeks old. They are a beautiful blue gray on the bottom and the hackles and saddles are black.

I want $20 each and will not ship. The size of the birds and the weather makes shipping out of the question.

If interested, PM me.
I do not have individual photos, they won't hold still.

Pick the ones you want from the flock, first come first serve.

Seven out of eight peepers I bought ended up to be roos!!!

I am keeping Dumbledore and Reeta Skeeter (hen). My local feed and seed said he would take four roos and see if he could re-home them. A friend with lots of chickens said she wanted one for gene stock additions. Leaves me with one extra roo.

I think I'll look into sex links next time!

I guess 6/13 is normal odds.  As in 50/50 with latitude.

In my belief, the male (roo) determines the gender of offspring.  I guess the roo involved was somewhat out of balance on that day.

The hen determines the offspring's gender.
