So I need to make sure my gender diagnostic is right before I start thinning out my flock. The birds are all a cross between barred rock and ameraucana that I got straight run from a local farm. She said she thought the straight brownish red ones were more than likely ameraucana purebreeds. Some are very noticably barred while others are definitely black and I'm not sure about the black ones as to what breed they are or if the barred characteristic just didn't carry through in the breeding with the ameraucana rooster (all birds have an ameraucana daddy). Let me know what you think!
