I would if I didn't live in such a residential setting. I want to try and stay in the good graces of the neighbors. A family from eastern Europe moved in a couple years ago and had a hen and rooster that they let free range in their yard. The neighbors complained mightily about the crowing. But the chickens didn't last long because they had no secure coop or run and predators got them after only a couple months.

So no crowing rooster for me.

Well, Carl started crowing the other day. I posted an ad on Freecycle and found him a new home outside of town where he can crow his little heart out.

Thanks for all the input.
