My silkie is about 9 months old. S/he is not crowing or laying. S/he started to kind of look boyish last week. The buff Cochin I’m thinking is a a boy, s/he is about 2-3 months.

I was thinking about that. Its in with roosters. It doesn’t do the shuffle or try to need hens.silkie looks like a roo, you sure it’s not a girl that “changed genders?”
My Roos usually crow a 2 months or 6 months. And all the hens younger than this silkie have layed. When s/he talks to the other chickens it sound roosterish sometimes. Maybe it a unasex or a changed gender??At nine months I would have thought you would have a crow or an egg, but silkies do tend to lay later.
Maybe you haven't noticed this guy crowing? Because you hve others crowing too?My Roos usually crow a 2 months or 6 months. And all the hens younger than this silkie have layed. When s/he talks to the other chickens it sound roosterish sometimes. Maybe it a unasex or a changed gender??
I can usually tell a new crower. He could just be a quiet rooster. S/he is in nesting boxes once a day too. I check the nest but no egg and the butt shows no egg laying.Maybe you haven't noticed this guy crowing? Because you hve others crowing too?
