This is Bo-Peep. I think she is a hen, but I am not too sure. I believe she is an EE/Silkie cross (so I have been told). Anyways, she was born in May so that would make her 5-6 months old. Our other chickens are the same age and their genders are known, but Bo-Peep confuses us...

^^^ excuse the pink goop on her face...she got into some cinnamon-flavored ice cream...

She still did not lay any eggs, she plays with the roosters - when they get into their play squabbles, she'll run in ruffle up her feathers and jump at them... However, our dominate rooster tries to mount her every once in a while, drills her in the head at times... she doesn't have a definite comb, no waddle, doesn't crow...

My dad jokes around and says that he thinks she is a "gay rooster" [he wants eggs really bad and just assumes something is wrong with this chicken, lol]

I don't know... could she just be a late maturer? Could she be sterile? Is she just a really really feminine rooster?

This is Ginger (aka Gin) [he was a late maturing rooster...we thought he was a girl until he started to crow, lol]. He is also 5-6 moths and has some feathering on his feet (not fluffy feathering, but hard stick like boy feathers that jut out). He's also a pretty big boy. I believe he is a mixed breed, but does anyone have ideas of what breed he is or is made up of?

Thanks in advance! I appreciate it.

I love your Bo Peep. She's a beauty. And she's the same age as my gals. I've got one who is an Ameracauna mix, Gladys, and she's not started to lay yet. My little RIR started laying eggs about a month ago.

I expect Gladys to start laying any day now, any day....
