What genders are my ducks?

I was on my daily run and people around my neighborhood know that I own chickens. So they were waving my down because they found 2 ducks in a box with only crumbs of food and no water in the sun. So we took them home and they are very healthy, but very scared all the time. I wish they wouldn’t be so nervous around us.

Mealworms and peas are the ticket.
Always move slowly around them.
sit on the ground or on a stool low to the ground and just let them come to you. Try not to reach over their heads hold your hand out low to the ground. When they learn that the hand brings yummy treats they will be less nervous around you.

I honestly do not understand how people can do that! I have a cat here that isn’t my favorite creature in the world , but he is my responsibility, for better or worse. how a human being can leave creatures to die is beyond me. Ducks especially, but then, i love em.

I am pretty sure they are male and female I re-listened to them and their quacks are very different and I’m hoping they are. I would like at least one chick for them to love and care for.

Try to get a video of them making their sounds and we can help you figure out for sure.

Trouble is usually with a 1:1 ratio you'll have a problem with over breeding once his hormones kick in.
In general you want to have three or more ducks per drake.
