I come to this site for same reasons: Homey, comfortable, family-friendly and after a hard days work at a fast food job dealing with the public, it is nice to be able to relax with people doing what I'd like to be doing, but can't, living in Public Housing. I don't like to argue, and I don't talk politics with anyone-it helps keep my blood pressure normal. With 4 ADHD children, 2 without it, neighbors you can't trust, I really don't need unneccassary stress added. No news on tv for me neither. Thank you, Ruth, for speaking.
Thanks to all who posted to say "thanks" and who sent e-mails saying they felt the same. Looks like today was a bumber crop day for locked threads. Someone said you can just skip them or ignore them but sometimes you can't. Some start out friendly and informative or the headline is innocent enough. But then, it's like you're reading a Dr. Seuss book and all of a sudden the next page is porno. Or watching a Disney cartoon and suddenly Jerry Springer is on. Or you open a thread and all it says is "1 2, 3 or A, B, C" and you wonder "what the heck????" I come here to escape. I purposely don't watch t.v. because of the horrible news - I don't expect to see it here. Again, I urge everyone to keep it polite and pleasant and about CHICKENS.
I'll start - I've just posted three new threads that have to do with My Chickens.
Love to all and please know no one is being singled out.
p.s. I never knew chickens would be so enjoyable. Let's keep it that way, o.k.
It is just beyond me................................
I can see posting about your chickens, pets, family life but I fail to see the necessity to post about anything other. There are forums about today's news, politics, religion, and everything else under the sun that are much more appropriate than BYC.
I guess it is either a case of intentional "stirring up the pot" or some people need to learn to go outside their comfort zone and search for other forums that address the agenda at hand. Jeez, do a google search for crimany sake............. find one for today's events and put it in your favorites.
Like I said earlier, I come here to escape the world and like Ruth said, it is difficult to weed thru.
Folks, this thread has run it's course and I think excellent points have been made.
Thanks to everyone participating and thanks to Ruth for creating this thread.
