I have a quick question...
On Thursday one of my hens layed her first egg!! I have eight girls, so I am not sure which one it was. On Friday and Saturday, we got an egg each day around 8am. I am assuming it is the same bird because they are the same size and color. (Big and brown!) 2 of three of the eggs were double yolks.
Since then, we haven't gotten any. The girls all look and act normally. Whats happening? Is this normal?
This is my first ever chicken flock and experience with egglaying, so any comments would be great

Ya, it is normal for new layers to stop and start and to lay weird eggs (like the doubles) when they are starting out. Hopefully their egg laying system will straighten out and get in gear and you will start getting regular eggs on a regular basis!
