What has been the best (life) advice anyone has ever given you?

"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

"let sleeping dogs lie"

"least said, fastest mended"

I tell my boys because my mom told me "you ARE judged by the company you keep. It isn't fair but it is true"

First impressions last the longest.

A few

1) Walk softly and carry a BIG stick
2) ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings
3) Follow your gut

and most importantly

4) NEVER, EVER, EVER wake a sleeping baby.
They will let YOU know when they are hungry and want to eat.

I thought my obg was going to kill me when I told her I was waking my newborn dd every 2 hours to nurse her. But I was just doing what the LaLeche nut jobs had told me HAD to be done. After I stopped doing the "norm" life got much better

Toughen up cupcake...

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift,
that's why it's called the present. Dear old Eleanor R.

If "everyone" was jumping off the Brooklyn bridge, would you?

My friend used to say the same thing!! except she said, "If you don't like that person why are you letting them live in your head?" She used to go on they were living there rent free and taking up space that could be used by nicer people!

When something bad happens, think "what good can come from this?" You can find good in any bad situation, if you are looking for it. -My good friend told me this once during a very hard time and it was amazing how much good came out of the "bad" situation, when I was looking for it.

Find ways to be thankful/grateful for all things. - Corrie ten Boom(not her exact quote, the same idea though.)

Don't go to bed angry. -my mom

Spend time with those you love.

I don't remember a lot of what my parents used to say to me cause I was a teen at the time and it went in one ear and out the other.

But I like this one:

"Success is determined by taking the hand you were dealt and utilize it to the best of your ability"

And I've been living by this one lately: "Strike while the iron is hot" corny but it works.

My Grandma who lived to be 103 had this plaque in her kitchen:

"Too soon old, too late smart."
