I've been reading your back and forth comments with another poster who was upset about a predator getting his/her birds. Losing any of my birds or stock to a predator is a sad day. This year I lost a peahen to a bald eagle, two goats (on the same night) to a Florida panther (also protected) as well as several chickens and 7 peafowl babies to unknown assailants.
You seem to take such an impersonal view about your losses...oh, well, I'll just hatch out some more. Yet, you seem to take it personally by becoming indignant when another poster comments about wanting to take out his/her predator. So, maybe you could better define your diametrically opposed views. Do you care about birds and other animals or just are you just a hypocritical busybody?
You seem to be softening up your views on your latter posts, but if your birds are your pets and you love them, the last thing you want to hear is preaching when you're just looking for a little commiserating. I've had my share of fantasies about being there when an attack happens with the right weapon, a steady hand and flawless vision. Unfortunately, I am a law abiding person and the only thing I would intentionally kill are fire ants and palmetto bugs. Plus finding yourself in that perfect scenario just ain't gonna happen!
