What Have I Got??

I think rooster due to the triangular saddle feathers, but only 80% chance since the comb is small for the age.
I know. SO confusing!! Kitty will be 6 mos old on the 28th and not much has changed except he/she sings the loudest "buh guck, Buh Guck" egg song ever. No egg yet, but no cockadoodle doo, either. Never really walks upright like a roo, usually down lower. I'm just at a loss with this bird lol The funniest most lovingest thing ever.

I'm honestly unsure. It looks like a girl to me at first glance but the red coloring is pretty strong. I have a few BYMs mixed with a barred dual-purpose. One is a pullet (laying eggs) with hints of red on her wings and on her saddle unevenly, but very very light tints. Her main color is a muddy barring. Her neck is orange and barred. Her brother had more orange on him (not tint but some very few orange feathers on the wing) and had lightly grey-blue iridescent wing feathers with no barring. Your chicken's orange/red more looks like a tint like mine, but it's still throwing me off. Additionally, the faint rounding isn't round enough to say not cockerel? Also looks like the chicken has a feather cape around the neck. When challenging another chicken, does it look like a full feather wall or just puffed up? Just like humans, biological sex isn't binary, so take that in to consideration.
He/She rarely ever initiates a challenge, even when play fighting. Just ever so docile and lovey. When He/She does, though, all head and neck feathers are puffed out. Yeah, I'm just at a loss, really lol

I'm so sorry...I know I said I would have more pics up today but it's been a full work day and now it's dark. I will do my absolute best to take a break and grab some pics tomorrow. I'd like to get to the bottom of this lol Thanks, guys.

Seems like a cockerel, just with some interesting characteristics. The saddles seem to be filling out as pointy and not really round. Ameraucanas grow slower than most chickens

Alright, All, I'm stopping the guessing game and calling it. It is much more clear to me today (amazing how much maturing a chicken can do in just 48 hours!!) that Kitty is a rooster. I clearly see more and more of the rooster traits in him. Here are some pics I got today and yeah...Kitty is absolutely 100% roo (albeit a very late bloomer lol). He sure had me fooled with that stellar egg song, though, ngl!!
