What have you done today to save money?

I spent $12 to buy some anti-fungal spray to save my tomatoes rather then rip them ALL out because they caught some super nasty fungus that is killing them.

Can't afford to let that work and money go and start again!!! Especially when there is a 50% or more chance I can save our food!!!

Other then that.... I drove home on an empty tank and I'm not driving anywhere else until Friday at the earliest. I even cancelled a play date because I didn't want to have to put gas in my car.

I'm on a weekly gas allowance... and I've already met it!

I have been saving for the last 2 weeks by eating half of what i usually do. I feel lighter and better. Also drinking water which is free instead of spending big bucks on fruit drinks and pre mixed icetea and lemonaid. I think I have saved $ 60 a week by changing my eating behavior.

I packed my hubby's lunch.
I cooked our eggs & garden spinach into an awesome omelette for breakfast.
I fed my hens weeds from the garden.
I worked from home.
DD & I ate leftovers for lunch.
I refused to give DS a $20bill to take his friends out for pizza - I mean, really!

I stopped by the grocery store on the way into the office and bought fudgicles and orange bars for the office. (The PNW is having a heat wave.) It was just a little bit more expensive than the frozen yogurt I'm sure we would have gotten at 3:00p, but I get to share AND we'll have frozen treats for the rest of the week.

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention... last night I found a coupon for a free gallon of milk at food lion!!! It was only good until friday... don't know how I got it, but it was in my wallet from the last time I went to food lion. I just happened to be right in front of the grocery center when I found it and made my husband pull over so I could use it right away!!!!

How awesome!!!

Apparently when you spend so much on your food lion card they are rewarding you with free items, no purchase nessecary but the coupons are only limited to a few days.

AND you aren't due to pay taxes on it either.

So if you have coupons hit Food lion right now.... I also have a $5 off your next order coupon they gave me... no minimium purchase amount!!!

I save money by using the barter system.......

Had no money and needed bread....... brought a dozon blue/green eggs to the general store on the island and traded for a loaf.

BARTER SYSTEM IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!!
