What have you done today to save money?

I refuse to turn on the a/c until the inside temp reaches near 95º.

I also hang my clothes to dry....but I do it like this & get more benefits: I hang the on clothes hangers instead of using clothes pins, that way when they are dry all I have to do is grab up all the hangers & put them away. Also, I let them air dry INSIDE on a rack I have. The sun does not get a chance to bleach them, and my house smells wonderful.

Mrs. Glassman :

Not trying to be funny, but how the heck do you sleep in those kinds of temps?!

A local meat store had a special on meats. Pick 5 for $19.99. I got two boston butts, 3 packs of cube steak, a pack of chicken legs, a pack of chicken breats, a pack of ground beef, a pack of boneless ribs and a pack of pork chops. All for $38.98 before taxes. Not bad, if I say so myself.

I gave the dog warden 2 hens, in exchange for getting my dog back with out paying fees.

Other than that, I picked the last of the Mulberries today. I have 15 pounds in the freezer. & I put together a cornedbeef & cabbage dinner that will feed 8 people for $12. Everything but the cornbeef came from the garden...I didn't have any work today due to the economy. So I guess not working saved me gas money, lunch money,& I don't owe anything for income taxes for today. So that will save me money at the end of the year....See there's always a brite side.

We go to the dump once a month or so instead of having garbage pickup. It is cool enough here and I use the ducks, the garbage disposal, the woodstove, recycling and composting to reduce the trash.

Today we paid less than $5 for one months of trash instead of $35 to have it picked up weekly.
