My husband and I have been getting eggs for just a few weeks but (knock on wood) we are already getting more than we can use ourselves. Where we live there tends to be a lot of trading or bartering. We haven't traded our eggs straight up but have instead been giving them to people like aunts and uncles who have given us materials we used for our coop. My husband's uncle gave us quite a few cedar posts he wasn't using.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had traded their extra eggs for anything interesting or just handy...?

Hi, I got a great deal from a kind dentist who offered to take 4 dozen eggs in exchange for a checkup and cleaning for my daughter! He knew we were a little short of cash at that time.

as bribes to keep my neighbors from attacking my Rooster when he is crowing at 5 a.m. on a Sunday morning

My neighbor just because she is elderly and I love her..........BUT.....she gave me fresh, homegrown tomatoes in return.

She's wonderful. Aren't chickens fun?

Other fertile eggs from other breeds and taking a couple of roo's to a swap meet in October to see if I can get some kind of neat chicken.

traded chicken eggs for duck eggs, not to exciting, but the people didn't know they could eat the eggs and were chucking them in their woods.

the duck eggs made gorgeous cakes, pancakes, cookies and waffles. i think that was a good trade!
