What in the world is making this sound?

OK, I know you can hear the frogs but what is "screaming" in the background? It did this for about an hour last night and has started tonight. Last night, whatever it was, was wandering around doing this. It would get closer and louder and then fade away again. I've never heard any animal do this. Anyone?

Having grown up in WNC, I was hoping I could identify it. I listened several times, so did DH. Nope.

My best guess was a bird. His was #1. a deer, #2. some sort of bird.

oh my gosh! i have almost that SAME exact screaming outside of my house at night also! it freaks me out soo bad!

ive been wondering what it is myselff. whatever it is. it is the sketchiest sounding animal/creature thing EVER!

sometimes it sounds like a person is like, getting murdered or something. sooo freakkyyy, especially when im home alone, and it gets realllyyy close...
