We've gotten a few eggs now that we suspect might be SG eggs but since they're in wit retiring girls, we aren't certain. Once the reds are dispatched, we'll know for sure!
Have yours been squatting? Two of mine have been squatting so I’ve been watching the egg boxes like crazy lol especially since our Orpingtons lay similar colored eggs

Not sure. My back went out so I haven't been out in the run much. Struggle to squat or bend myself and can't sit :/ But we have more smallish eggs and one is a weird shape and more speckled than our sexlinks have laid. And red around eyes and combs/wattles has gotten really red on a few. I'll try to get out earlier tomorrow to see if any SGs are squatting....

Get well soon
Working on it. I want a full out farm and because of my dumb back, get caught in the dumbest positions...like the other night when a opossum got in the run and I tried to catch it with my hands and a pitcher. Ended up stuck and had to call my husband. But I was sick and had lost my voice so the noise that came out was something un-human. My neighbors probably thought we'd taken to clubbing sea life or something. Then the girls--completely unphased by a toothed opossum--got so distressed by my barking-rasp, that they joined in the cacophony of noise by squawking up a royal sound alarm and still...nothing. Husband finally mosied on out 15 to 20 minutes later and I was back in commision but dumb opossum got away. Trap is set. Never a dull moment with chickens ;) How I'm going to run an entire farm someday has yet to be determined hahaha

Hey there! I posted a pic on another thread, and was pointed in this direction. My daughter brought home a chick that was supposed to be a sexlinked sapphire gem pullet back in March.
She, I mean he, is such a good chicken. lol
I wanted to share these pics with y'all!
