I found myself adding to my holderreads order after being on here for a couple weeks. First it went from the minimum of ducklings, to 12, then I realized runner ducks were just TOO cute NOT to have...so 4 of those...

NO THANKS! I'm gonna have my hands and brooder full with what we've got. Not only that, let's not forget the EMU eggs in the bator...

I WANT EMUS!!!!! They won't fit in my bator and I bet my Ken is very glad for that.

My version of bator math. You set 100. 50 will hatch and 25 of those will be roos. So you really only have 25 eggs set. I think this means I need a cabinet bator.

Hmm, you want Emu, I DON'T WANT EMU....so maybe we can work out a trade here. By trade I mean you take the emu, and I don't get anything except peace of mind.

My version of chicken math:

You buy five chicks.
One will be a boy.
Two will die.
One will be a girl that eats eggs.
One will be a girl that lays well.

So, you see, five chicks makes one chicken!

All chicken math really is is a way to convince your husband, wife, mom, or anyone else who might object to the size of your flock that "It really isn't as big as it looks! See you just add.... carry the.... find the square root of.... divide this from.... See?"
