What is coming out of my chicken? URGENT

UPDATE: She took quite a large and healthy looking poop, and now the prolapse is soft, so my guess is that it was the poop causing it to feel hard? I gave her an epsom salt bath, the tums, moisturized the prolapse, I was trying to gently push it back inside but with no luck. I'm not sure if I'm just not pushing with enough force (I am scared lol) or if for whatever reason it doesn't want to go back in. She is contracting.
Were you able to get extra calcium into her?

If the tissue won't stay in, just keep it moist with whatever ointment/cream/oil that you have, that's the main thing is to not let it dry out.

The white creamy looking material that's coming out and coating the tissue is fairly normal, it's urates, but it will often stick and make a coating over the tissue. The ointments/oils, etc. can help keep that from happening sometimes.

Do the best you can. If she's exhausted, then let her rest. Do try to keep her drinking, fluids are extremely important along with the calcium and keeping tissue moist.
(Calcium helps with retention of tissue, contractions and if she's struggling with an egg as well, it can help her expel it more easily).

Yes, crumbled up Tums tablet. The tablets are 750mg so I didn't give her the entire thing but most of it. I'm going to keep up treatment with vaseline and the hemhorroid cream. I have electrolytes in her water. Also she is still eating and very alert. Just nervous being away from the other hens. Letting her sleep now through the night. I'm hoping tomorrow any swelling gets reduced enough to push it back inside.

TUMS will work fine.

Understandable she's anxious being away from the others. Having a prolapse is pretty much the only time I will separate out a hen from her flock. You sure don't want them pecking at that exposed tissue.

During the day if you have time to monitor or can take her outside to be near the flock and enjoy a bit of fresh air/sunshine, that will be o.k. but keep flies off the tissue and don't let her take a dust bath.

Several years ago, I found one of my hens with a prolapsed vent, it had been badly damaged by picking and she was picking at it herself. After a while, it became very clear that it was not repairable, and I lost her.

Will do, she definitely needs some movement and sunlight.
Also that sounds horrible. As soon as I saw it the other hens came to mind, I knew something like that could probably happen. I get so paranoid about them getting violent with each other after hearing some horror stories (mine never have been though besides the typical pecking. they're very good to each other). Something like this situation just gives them a target for sure. I'm getting confident the prolapse can be fixed and ready to treat her more tomorrow but definitely worried it will happen again and again.

UPDATE: the prolapse hasn't gone all the way back in yet (its about half way there). I push it back in now and again, it usually pops back out but I think we're making progress because, as I said, it's only maybe half as much out as it was at the start. She is laying eggs and passing droppings no problem and she is in good spirits and eating very well. I have kept up the routine of creams on her vent and feeding her a bit of coconut oil (just a little every day). Here is the problem

These urates are drying on the prolapse over night. I keep up with the creams during the day but every morning she has had more and more dry up on her and now its almost fully coated. I give her baths to soak it and manage to get some of it off, but she has a lot coming out of her. The skin looks perfectly fine under the dried urates, but I don't know how to get it all off now or if I should still be trying to shove the prolapse back into her vent with that stuff on it?
Also, about how long can the prolapse be out without an issue? Its been quite a number of days now, should I be concerned that it might not go back in fully?

I don’t own chickens so take this with a grain of salt but I would keep her in a dark area so she stops laying eggs until the prolapse is back in that might be why it is still out but I don’t know hopefully some of the more experienced people will respond again.

Yea, that could be true. I honestly thought when she laid the first that it would have made it far worse and was definitely happily surprised to see it hadn't caused any further trouble. She's laid three at this point. You could be right though, that even though it isn't making it worse, might be stopping it from going in. 🫤

Giving daily soaks in a warm epsom salts bath and
Coating the dried material with mineral oil may help the crusty urates come off more easily.

You're right, the skin underneath usually does look o.k.

You're still giving extra calcium correct? If possible, get some Calcium Citrate with D3 and give her 1 tablet daily.

Got it 👍 Trying again today with another bath
I've been giving her tums, but I will see about getting my hands on calcium citrate tablets

Thanks so much guys for coaching me through this
