I am sure someone will grill some hamburgers. I am frying chicken outside and some fried dill pickles. The grandkids love fried chicken. We love cooking fried chicken in our fish cooker. Some corn on the Cob and Baked beans. Did I mention Blueberry Pie

I have to work 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

I am so sorry you have to work. I will pop some firecrackers just for you both.

pulled pork, ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, tater salad, cole slaw, baked beans, caramel pie, lemon pie, homemade vanilla and strawberry ice creams, and whatever else I forgot to mention!!

We are having our annual "fourth fest" and this year we are roasting a piggy! I am a little worried about it to tell you the truth. DH is in charge of almost all outdoor cookery, and he has never done anything like this. Oh well, sometimes you just have to give up the reins, right? I am making BBQ pasta salad, fruit kebobs, baked beans, slaw and deviled eggs (thanks girls!). I am also going to make strawberry blueberry fruit pizzas for desert and smores of course

. Maybe I should worry more about the fireworks show than the pig...

PS Never heard of fried dill pickles-sounds like tasty stuff, can you tell me how to do them?

okay I am making Potatoe salad, Macroni salad, Hamburgs, Hot dogs, corn on the cob, Sloppy Joes, and barbequed (sp) pork.

I have invited all my neighbors over for a hiant party and my nighbor that owns the local hardware store might save some of his 5,000 dollar fireworks display for my party

I am having it on Thursday cause Friday Many of my neighbors have family things to attend.

We always have a huge picnic with all my family, and we have a large family!! My dad comes from a family of 14 children out of those he has the smallest family with 6 kids. Out of those 6 kids we have 3 children each. The picnic is at my Uncle's farm. We each bring a dish to pass. This year I am bringing homemade yellow cake. (recipe on this forum!) and I will bring my Dad's favorite rhubarb upside down cake! I can't wait!! It is sooo much fun! All the kids are running around. The adults usually play Bocce Ball or Crocet. We have a large fireworks display at around 10:00. It is one of my favorite holidays mostly because it is a family day for us!!

There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken ka-bobs on the grill. Baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, just basic outdoor summer food. Won't be too many people...probably less than 20. First time my hubby has been home for the 4th in awhile so we are pretty excited about it!!!!!!
