What is everyone paying for 50# of chicken grower feed

I only have 9 full grown laying hens. 6 white leghorns and 3 domaniques. I'm paying $14.50 a bag for 18% grower feed. That's the cheapest I can find and that is Lone Star brand. How much should 9 chickens eat in a week or month?? They are eating like CRAZY especially as the weather is starting to cool off! They need to start laying GOLDEN EGGS!! Does everyone keep feed in there 24 hours a day? Is that what we are suppose to do? How much could I supplement with scratch? I believe it is a lot less expensive.
We like nutrena, price is sbout ight, found a locsl feed store 20 miles away, still go to tsc and rural king.

18.00 something at my local feedstore in Sanford, FL for nutrena starter grower (i have 12 week pullets with 29 week pullets with oyster shell on the side).
12 pullets all together

Recently my flock has been eating a lot of layer feed. 10 leghorns laying 1 egg per day and 5 dual that just switched over from starter. They went through 50 lbs in 1 week! It used to last a few weeks. Does that sound right? I feed them some mealworm every morning when I open up the coop to the run.

Something else is eating your food or else they are wasting a ton. With 15 birds, each eating about .25 pounds per day - that's 3.75ish pounds per day. Even rounding up to 4 pounds per day you should only have gone through 28 pounds in a week, not a full 50.
