I don't know what's going on with my chicken's rear end. She does not seem to be in distress and is still laying eggs though not as much as the others. Any insight is appreciated!
This is reminiscent of my first mite infestation. If you can, after they've gone to bed, check vent areas with a bright light for moving specks. I tried many treatments and have found the best to be spinosad bath. Mine get a bath in it spring and fall whether they need it or not because it was so hard to treat. I also spray down the coop every 30 days with permethrin.
She may be getting feather picked, most likely on the roosts. It's often due to over crowding or boredom. Or she may be low in the pecking order. How many birds, sexes and ages, how much space in the coop and run, and how much roost space?
