Here's a picture of Ginger, the Love Monger! I recently asked my BIL to take the Grumpy old Rooster up to his coop after he flogged me a few times. As soon as he was removed, Ginger stepped in as Lord of the Ladies. He even tries to act like he wasn't the cute little fella snuggling in my neck just a few days ago....

I have only had a rooster for a little over a week, and he is still trying to win over my hens. One leghorn is sort of friendly. He puffs up and does that side shuffle (it looks like he is trying to sneak up on her) and then jumps on her back, only to be turned down, and then pecked and chased by the golden comets. He fell in the water bowl doing it the other day. He will get her one day.

He's a lover boy! Very sweet, this is a sign of a nice, considerate rooster. I am sure you will find him folding laundry in the coop at night too!

I had recently seen my roo do this dance and then hop aboard, do the hens always make a noise like they are being hurt when they do it? Im scared the roo may be to big for the hen, is that even possible?

Thanks it makes me feel a little better, as I was not prepared to have a rooster, I never did much research on the matter. Guess I will be photographing soon and finding out how many more surprises I have in store! The chicken dance is awesome to watch, so Im kinda glad I have a rooster now, but shhh don't tell the boyfriend! lol
