What is he?

I bought a handful of chicks this past spring at an auction and were told they were americaunas. this was the only rooster out of the batch and only 1 of the chicks hatched actually looks like one so im starting to think i was lied to. I have a mixed flock, but like to know what i have so i can brag about them when people come over. Any ideas of what he really is?

they are a dark grey i believe

cant be new hampshire they have yellow legs. i would say red sex link but they have yellow legs to and not dark enough for a rir (yellow legs to). i'm thinking you have more of a mixed roo of some sort

A red sexlink roo is white with red on the wings. He might be a sexlink x sexlink though.

so if im looking to breed my flock and get good laying hens would this be a bad rooster to have?

If you don't mind that they are mutts, he should be fine as long as he doesn't get aggressive.

He looks like a buff x blue/black orp mix to me. He would be a great flock rooster, the bigger roosters like that dont get too agressive generally
