I hatched some silkies from a friend and got a chick that looks lavender-ish.
But its feathers are coming in white.
We are very excited and curious to see what it will end up looking like.
She thinks it may have came from her silver birchen hen and her white roo. Thoughts?
I'll take up to date pictures later, these were not long after it hatched.

Recessive white can produce chick down colors anywhere from yellowish to smoky-gray in color. They still feather out in pure white despite their chick down color. I would suspect that's what you're seeing with this little one. It could be a Splash as well, however. If you start seeing grayish flecks in the feathering, that would mean it's a Splash.

That makes more sense, so far pure white feathers developing.
