What is it?

Just candled my 6 eggs and all i saw was a dark red spot. It wasn't a small red spot and it wasn't the whole egg, just in one spot. It has only been a couple days since i put them in the bator. What am I looking at? I can't see any veins or anything yet. Are my eggs fertile? I know my roos are doing there thing, i've see it. I'm going to candle them again in a couple days and see if there is any change.

I completely agree. Wait about 4 or 5 more days and look for veins. You are probably just seeing evidence of fertility now. I would candle about once a week. But the last time, you might not see much when the chicks grow and fill up most of the egg.

Ok, they are fertile. YAY!!!! That makes me so happy.

It's a start anyways. Don't know if I can wait a couple more days to candle again!!! lol

It is suggested to candle at 7 - 10 days for the first peek, I believe. Remember, they are very fragile in there!
