What is making this noise?

Sounds like a frog, possibly doing a mating call.

I think it's a spring peeper! We are surrounded by them and every so often just 1 will peep all night, just like that!

Yep..they get loud here .. Theres a swamp behind my house also.
I dont mind them though.... its just normal noise for us here..

No, I don't mind him either. I just wondered what the heck can be so persistant?

I get a frog chorus every single evening that eventually slows down to just one tree frog very late at night. There were always a few around, due to irrigation ditches, but when I built my two ponds, they just moved in. Some nights it is VERY loud.

I love it, though.
