What is my dog mixed with?

i even looked up her breeders name..because on their pedigrees they always have "mr. muffy mutt of so and breeder"..as the dogs names...and the breeder (if i remember correctly) was out west somewhere..and she bred them AND newfoundlands(sp?)....and HER dogs were beautiful!...LOL...go figure..

...and i even called the place..heehe..and left a message stating i think i had one of her dogs..and i had a few questions..would she please call me back...never heard from her!...

honestly never knew you could DNA a dogs "breed"...interesting..thanks!

Definitely not collie, but possible English Setter. And yes a dog can have pups in the same litter sired by different fathers. We rescued a litter of pups whose mother got killed, 2 boys and 2 girls. Mother was a purebred German Shepherd, one boy was definitely hound and shepherd, one boy was collie/shepherd, one girl was Dobie/shepherd and then was my Gretchen who was all shepherd.

One of the things about buying dogs from a Pet Store is that the dogs they get are usually, not always, from a puppy mill somewhere, that is one of the reasons that the AKC can restrict the registration of the dog.

It could be that she is purebred St. Bernard, but a bad example of the breed. But as long as she is healthy and happy and she loves you and you love her who cares.

...shes fixed..so, its not about breeding or anything..i am just curious..also..some breeds are prone to certain diseases..i'd just like to be aware of things....also,,interesting about differant fathers..i knew cats could do that..but not dogs...

I would still keep an eye on her for all of the normal Bernard stuff...she clearly is predominately St Bernard... my FILs dogs all had problems with HD even though they were not full blooded.
