It's fertile for sure, but not sure the mottled yolk would would develop and hatch.This is the first thing I just thought too.
It appears to not really me a normal occurrence. Should I be concerned? They are fed layer feed, free choice grit and calcium, free range and also treats.Same here.

I was wondering if that egg was fertilized! I've never seen him mount a hen so..... But then I was raking and I saw him actually mount a Brahma (he's a Silkie) and he was so gentle. He did not grab her, only mounted after she submitted and was down and when he couldn't make contact within a few seconds he simply got off. I was shocked! I've never seen such a gentle "teenaged" cockerel! I just love this guyI see you have a rooster.
