This is Patch, she’s 8 months old and I was told she is an Icelandic chicken.....but she’s laying green eggs. Icelandic chickens lay white. The place I got her from had a bunch of different breeds running around, I didn’t pay much attention as I was just there to get my chicks (I got two, one was a boy and he’s in the freezer)...the only other breed I’m sure was there was Brahma but she’s definitely not part Brahma. She’s quite small and fine boned. Anyone have a guess??

My bet is a cream legbar possibly crossed to a welsummer. Essentially she is an olive egger. Initially I was going to say a brown leghorn with those white ear lobes but clearly not when she is laying such a beautiful olive egg. Lucky you! Pretty bird and gorgeous egg.... who could ask for more!

Thanks so much!! I suspected maybe some Welsummer in her.

If she is a legbar cross, I would expect to see a slight crest.... it might be miniscule but I believe it is a dominant trait. I can't make anything out on that photo as it isn't close and light enough to see.
Legbars are more common here in the UK than araucana or EEs, so it is the first breed to think of here when you see an egg with blue shell genetics. Particularly a salmon breasted single combed bird with leghorn type body shape... although legbars should be a bit more substantial than leghorns of course.

It really is a stunning egg both in shape and colour. Many congrats.
