What is she?

I have a hen that was supposedly a buff orpington but now it is obvious that she isn't! She is red and white in color and built like a typical leghorn but I just caught her laying a medium dark brown egg! Is she some sort of mutt or a real breed? Thanks! Here is a picture of her and her barred rock friend.

Looks like a red sex link, to me. They're usually half white leghorn and half something red/brown (RIR, NHR, etc) so that the chicks are basically color coded by gender.

That's what my dad said. *ha* Let us know how her chicks turn out, if she has any. I'm curious if it is a sex-link. But, does it matter what she breeds with in order for the sex-link trait to be accurate with the chicks? (Does that make sense?)

She is a Red Sex-link. There are many different names for them, but basically it is a cross between an egg producing breed and a larger red breed.
