Oh no! I'm seeing it on Amazon and it IS the Sweet PDZ stuff!! Does anyone know what the "stuff" is made of? It doesn't magnify the image so I can't read it.

Okay, it's not bad stuff... it's zeolite, which I'm familiar with as a natural odor-absorbing mineral or fossil or something. It's all good.. but just not so cheap, perhaps.

Found their website.. the Sweet PDZ is just zeolite.. totally organic chemistry from the earth, volcanic minerals or something that acts kind of like charcoal: absorbs odors and moisture and traps it. Totally compostable, shouldn't have any scent to it. So, I think this will be great!

Just ordered a bag from a local feed dealer... $14.

If that's it be so careful with new products , she says it smells so good and lasted longer then " normal pine shavings ", not to sound like and old dog ..... but adding scents doesn't make anything cleaner , and smells can hurt young chicks and are so unnecessary

Frankly I like my smelling like a chicken coop...lol...I clean it most everyday, and lay a small amount of straw down, plus i cant do artificial scents, im allergic to way to much! 

Sorry I hadn't read about it when I wrote that... sweet pdz is not available here in Canada , but I'm sure it's not " cheap " because it's a premade speciality product.

You'll have to look up the web site , looks like it's only in Minnesota.

I would post the website here but I haven't gotten permission to post links yet. It is 100% NATURAL.. totally good, normal, organic material. It is cut straw pieces mixed with volcanic zeolite.. very porous ash or mineral of sorts that has 60% better absorption of odor and moisture. I'm thrilled to try it!

Try it before you decide it's so great!! You can buy all those things separately and mix them if you want . It's like buying a pizza or making a pizza you know you will pay more...waiting for your response once you've tried it

I'm really not into this commercialized world we live in ... don't even have a tv!!

Well, perhaps zeolite isn't such a great addition to the coop... a very well trusted website called "natural news" (dot.com) posted an updated article about zeolite ("zeolite_myths_.....") .. granted, their purpose is based on ingestion for "health benefits", but still concerning none the less because chickens DO ingest their bedding to some degree. So, zeolite, even though totally natural and organic as a mineral blend, ALSO contains high levels of aluminum and lead!!!!! YIKES! NOT what we want our chickens around. I just called the feed store and cancelled my order. Back to the basics... pine shavings, plain and simple, I guess. BUMMER!
