HI!!
My husband brought home a young Jake this evening that he got from someone who kept him in a very small enclosure along with 2 other Jake's... I am not sure what he is yet because most of his feathers are gone. he is such a pitiful sight... doesn't look like he has been cared for so he was brought home in hopes we could fix him and get him beautiful & healthy again. I was told this evening by an old timer that i should give him as much turkey feed as he is willing to eat in a day but to also give him cat food because it is high in protein and this will help his feathers come back faster. i know turkeys require more protein than a chicken but is cat food safe to give and if some of you do this until feathers and health is well how much per day? Thanks for all the info in advance!
