What is the best way to hatch shipped eggs????

I candled a few at day 25, including the saddles. The poults have pushed on the membrane and restored it to near normal. There are still margin irregularities, but they look like the others for all intents and purposes.

Day 18 tomorrow! I think I will lay the stable air sacs down and the rest upright in an egg cartoon.

Sounds good?

That's my plan with my Tolbunt eggs..most look semi normal, but a few look like a normal crossed to a saddle. .normal with a huge dip on one side..I am keeping a close eye on this thread though just in case..I put 8 Silkies in lock down last night that were shipped, but I think the worst of the air sacs were early quitters but I laid all remaining on their sides with the entire hatcher (just a LG incu) elevated on one end..hoping to get all or at least most of these Silkies hatched.., but more importantly it will give me an idea of what's best during lockdown for the more expensive eggs ..please let us know how your lil ones do ♡

Anyone on this thread with shipped eggs, saddle shape or dipped, loose air cells, please let me know how your hatch turned out! I'm only on week 2 but would like to prepare for lockdown & hatch! Thanks!

My Silkies are on day 18 and Tolbunt Polish are on day 10.. I will certainly share when they hatch (although you are probably ahead of my Polish ).. I am so nervous and scared over them..they have been upright in a very slow tilting type turner (didn't turn it on until day 4--just slightly tipped them every few hours until turning it on).. but I still haven't decided if I want to leave them upright or laying down in the hatcher..I have the Silkies laying down with the entire hatcher propped up on one end to elevate the eggs a bit. I guess the results of this hatch will help me determine how I set the polish.. only have 8 of each (from 18 each) that started and are doing good so fingers crossed..
Best of luck with your babies..I'd give anything to have good breeders within driving distance instead of buying eggs that have to be shipped but I'm not going to let that hamper my goal for quality birds ♡

Exactly! I wish I had good quality within driving distance. I'm trying to decide if I should do shipped again for the next batch or not. I'm on day 11, only 1 day ahead of your polish. Good luck with the guys on lockdown! I decided to take them out of the carton because air cells look stable for now. But one is mis-shaped going down the side of the egg. We'll see. I've read that some people want to give up after the first hatch doesn't turn out well, but for me it will just motivate me to try harder! Looking forward to hearing good news in a few days from you! I'm rooting for your eggs! :)

Thank you! :) I had 1 shipment last year and had an amazing hatch..this year one batch was from the same breeder and had crazy cells (silkies), but I always plan for the worse that way if/when I fail I'm not disappointed. .honestly I'm tickled to death over the 8 Silkies going into lockdown and the Tolbunts all are looking strong, perfect egg shape/quality..great veining, movement and growth...it's up to them now..and my decision at lockdown..I don't drink but I may start with this hatch..lol..

This thread is great. I just got my shipped eggs today, 6 appear to have intact air cells and 4 seem to be rolling. I was confused as to how to set them in the incubator but I think I'll go with the trimmed egg carton method. I'll set them tomorrow and see what happens :)
