What is the best way to hatch shipped eggs????

They look great!

Blooie has a great thread with instructions  for the "mama heating pad" and a lot of people have posted their adaptations.  I had already bought an eco-glow (which the chicks loved!) or I would have made one.

Yep, hers is a great write up..she and I were just talking about them the other day..
I thought about ordering a Brinsea but I usually have 3 or more brooders going and I'm just to tight I guess to buy them..lol

I watched the video and immediately ran to Walmart for a dog crate and heating pad. I have one Ameraucana chick that is doing fine in her "quonsit hut". I added a feather duster since she is all alone (except for the dog and cat). I heard about the "feather duster mommy" on the Oklahoma page. She cosies up to it and spends most of her time in the feathers. Great idea for lone chicks.

She hatched on day 19, but my other eggs are still sitting. It's day 24. I'm trying to be a good girl and not open the incubator or touch the eggs. I did a water candling and saw some movement the other day.

I just found this old, rusty thing, at an abandon property near my house....I took the baby out in the stroller on the hunt for some kind of wire fencing laying around! Lol. It fits in the brooder perfect! Think it will work? Should I spray paint it first with an antitrust paint?

It is definitely perfect. .lol..I would for sure scrub it down and bleach it..but as long as it's not dropping rust in the brooder I figure it will be fine but paint never hurts ;)

It's the side off a grill thingy..I actually think I have 2 of those in the junk pile waiting to go to the dump..probably outta check them out before he loads them up..lol

You have to check because it really fits perfect! I'm gonna scrub it with a wire brush and then put a coat of the anti-rust paint on it. Thank you for the idea! Yeah it came off of this big circular fire pit thingy...I don't know, it was laying in a pile of junk!

I am lucky in that I have industrial egg incubators. I leave the eggs 24 hrs and then set the humidity and temperature and have a good hatch rate.

These are some of the ducks and geese that I have hatched.

Vale das Lascas.

Wow!!! Is that your land?? It's beautiful & so are your birds!! It looks like a little piece of paradise. I hope I have a place like that someday! That's a lot of ducks & geese. You must be a hatching pro, now! :)

Took a lot of time and hard work to get there but we now a little bit of paradise for us, our animals and whoever wants to share it with us is most welcome.

I have hatched thousands of eggs in my time! These are some more of my babies under the fig tree.
