What Is The Bird You Want Most?

Yes and aLL three can be killed 24/7 here........but did you know you can teach a young starling to talk ,and you need no permit to take the young from the wild.

Just because they are invasive doesnt mean they are mean or anything. We "raised" a robin and let it go but while it was in the house it chased our starling around if that says anything. and all three of those birds are beautiful. We got our starling to talk, she would say "hi kiwi" (wich was her name) and she would say matt wich is may name and she would say dawn wich is my moms name. And when ever we had music on in the house she would sing to the music! (ok, so maybe it didnt sound exactly like the music but she tried!)

I didn't say they were mean, even though they are. The point of invasive is that they don't belong here and they compete with native species. Some of which are teetering on the edge of extinction. Need more info on specifics?

When I was a teenager, ( mid '70's ) I bought a pair of Masked Bobwhites from a breeder in az for $150.
I kept them in my greenhouse in Santa Cruz, ca
Man... they flourished like all bobwhites do.

I got 200 eggs the first year. With a 90% hatch rate.
The only problem was that the chicks pecked each other to death.
I'd say I managed to get about 15 pair to breeder size.
Goverment contacted me and ordered me to sell them all that I had.
Of which they promptly killed all the got!
You see these Masked Bobwhites were domesticated. They tried to release domesticated birds in the wild.!

yes, i'm aware they are invasive species but alot of critters are .....oh well...i hate STINK BUGS( also an invasive species..) more than any bird species...LOL

But why would you want to kill a bird? They were her before us and if we werent here the invasive species would be either so it not there fault therefor DONT HURT THEM!

The birds I crave for are ornamental quails (California quails, Mearns's quails, etc.) and grouse.

i got my wish; 4 blacks and 1 white from the breeder in s carolina. i have 1 black hen and 1 white cock left. hen is almost 6 years old. these are black cubalayas

i would love some geese and ducks (am getting 3 geese an African, buff and Toulouse) and just some random ducks.

also for quail i would love some bob whites (funny in my province there legal and Japanese quail are not to my knowledge)
