What is the bump on the base chickens tail?

Hey...

I noticed a long time ago, that one of my chickens had something sticking out on the base of her tail. I didn't think much of it, because it didn't seem painful or anything, so I ignored it. Well, now, I noticed it on the rest of my chickens (I didn't check before so I wouldn't know if it had been there alll along), and on my 1 1/2- 3 1/2 week old babies that are still in the house. What is this bump? Is it normal? Or are they sick?

This is probably a really dumb question, but thanks anyway!

That is an oil gland, and perfectly normal. I think it helps them with grooming......
