Please do not say "Black shoulders".

Does anyone have pictures so I can see the difference? I have what I was told on here by several extremely helpful people with a LOT more knowledge than me (not hard) that mine are IB. A lady wants to sell me her BS IB male which looks JUST like mine???? I do not notice any differences. Is it difficult to see or completely obvious?

I also don't want this one, who is older, bullying my beloved lone male who free ranges with his mate. Worried about upsetting the apple cart... Hmmmmm.

Blackshoulders have soild wing shoulder, normal IB have barring shoulders. no matter the color.

females BS are white with speckles of color(blue have black) non BS are solid color.

charcoal non BS

Thank you!!!! To clarify... barred wings would rule out any color being clasified as black shouldered. The black shouldered term comes from having solid colored wings... not necessarily black.
So many variations to try to figure out. (For the longest time, I assumed white eyed meant the coloring around the eyes on their head!)
Your time is MUCH appreciated!

Yes BS came from the first mutation , which was the blues(BLACKSHOULDER). Term should be called solid wing....its a pattern not a color. Come in many colors . purple bs have brown shoulders, charcoal ,opal , they have silver ,or grey shoulders.

BS hens of other colors are still white with specks , but blue have black, purple have brown specks, cameo also but no blue/purple feathers in the neck.

Well maybe this will help you have patterns and colors.

Patterns are

1. barred wing
2.solid wing (BS)
3. white eye
4. pied
5. silver pied.

A bird can have more than one pattern, like i have a blue solid wing pied white eye. he is the one in the pic.

colors are

1. green
2.blues
3.white
4.bronze
5.cameo
6.charcoal
7.peach
9. purple
10.opal
11. midnight
12 jade
plus two new colors.

yes you can get over 200 Varieties...but just only 5 patterns and 14 colors.

I'm on my phone so it more difficult to see, but it looks as though the white eye is just characterized by some white in the middle of some eyes and not all?
How many pea's do you have? What is your rarest color? I am so fascinated by all the colors. Very cool.
I almost bought an all white male a while back but resisted the temptation. I have my pair and they bet along well. Do you think another male in the mix would be bad?
Maybe I will have to get another female...??

yes some white eye only have a few other all the train feathers will have all white eyes.

I did have hundreds , my rare color would have been the spalding charcoal pied.

My faverite ....was my peach white eye. ,or the bronze that was turning white.

Add another male will be ok if they have alot of room.

here few more pics
