What is the dosage of sulfaclozine sodium monohydrate dissolved in water?

You may ask your vet for metronidazole, also called Flagyl. That is the generic of Fish Zole. It is used all over the world in humans and in animals. In humans it is used for certain vaginal infections, giardia, heart infections, amoebic infections, in treatment of ulcers, and others. Has there been any improvement on the sulfa drug?
I specifically asked him if this is metronidazole, and he said it is. Although now I think that either that's a straight up lie, or It's a similar product with similar function.

sulfaclozine and metronidazole are "cousins", both should be good for this. I've used both in the past.

Eggsessive is right 1-2gr per l, 1ml per kg... so 10cc seems adequate.

Make she sure actually drinks; if she doesn't, I would syringe 3ml every couple of hours.

Hope things go well, suck to have a sick bird.

How much of the drug are you using in the water? In the link in post 6 it gives several mixing instructions. Basically it says to dissolve 1-2 grams of powder into a liter of water, and treat for 3 days. Skip 2 days, and treat 2 more days if symptoms persist. Of course, that is for treatment of coccidiosis.

There is also a drench where the whole packet is mixed into a liter of water, and given orally. Then it says to give 10 ml per every 10 kg which is 22 pounds. Chickens probably would get 2-3 ml maximum per day.

Can you try to get FishZole online? Look at post 5 for a link. Dosage is 250 mg daily for 5 days.

2. Suphaclozine sodium

Suphaclozine sodium is white, crystalline, free-flowing water-soluble powder. It is active against all types of protozoan species especially Emeria app and certain types of bacteria.

Mode of action

It is an antibiotic belong to a group of sulphonamide. Like another sulphonamide, it is an antagonist of para-aminobenzoic acid, a precursor of folic acid in protozoa and bacteria. Folic acid is a coenzyme necessary for the synthesis of nucleic acid. By which, protozoa and bacteria don’t multiply in the presence of suphaclozine sodium.

Formulation

There are two types of formulation available in the market 30% and 60% which available in powder form.

Dose

The dose of suphaclozine sodium varies to which types of coccidia infect and causing coccidiosis in poultry.

In the case of, Eimeria tenella and Emeria nicartrix dosage start from 75-100 mg/ day and corresponding to 140-190 mg/ kg/day

Except both this species, Dosing start from 50 mg/ kg/ day corresponding to 90 mg/kg / day.
