may have been suggested.. i dont have the time right now to read through all the pages but im going with the Saipan junglefowl most i hear of in the roosters are -15-20 lbs. over 3 feet tall, and if your looking for a guard dog.. the right chickens for you... However they'll get you too if you mess with the hens or eggs. just what i hear never dealt with them and dont plan on it

I will second that. I bought mine directly from a breeder in new jersey. He is a handsome boy, but he is very slowly maturing. I have the black one, but there are whites and blues. I bought mine for breeding purposes. So far he is one of the most docile birds I have ever had. Now that he is getting pretty big, no one messes with Mr. Killer. I can not wait to get a few chicks out of him.

All the jerseys I have seen at shows arent that big. I say go with one of the oriental breeds like the malay and shamos, they are huge. There are also Brahmas, the roosters can get huge, the dark brahma I had a few years back was close to 3' tall.

Personally, I have never been face to face with a large breed, but I went to the fair once and saw a HUGE Black Maran....... I thought they only came in black. I have looked all over the place for one. I thought THEY were the biggest breeds. (?)

I have a couple of beautiful JGs, a black and a splash. Both Roos. I also have a black Australorp hen, and really, she's not quite the hefty girl these boys need for some lovin'. But they are SO mellow!
