I feel like I haven't crossed ANYTHING off my list for months

A birthday party balloon escaped for a swim. My boxer, Hodge, woke me at midnite to go out. A huge flash of white hit, then the bomb thunder went off followed by some pithy rain.

Currently 12.56p.m. hot and mostly sunny. 79.5F.

North Eastern British Columbia, Canada -35 C , -30F tonight, with snow and not including wind chill. Still no forecasted change in the polar vortex for the next two weeks. Heavy snowfall of over 3 feet in the last two weeks. More to come as winter is less than halfway through. Widespread cold over most of Canada.

Ahahaha, that's what we say about Arizona, too! Everything wants to bite, poke, or sting you.

Do you have those lovely tarantula hawks in Texas? They're 2 1⁄2 in. long wasps and have one of the most painful stings in the world. They are second only to the bullet ant on the Schmidt sting pain index.

I see them from time to time and give them a wiiiiiide berth but thankfully they aren't aggressive. Roadrunners are one of the few critters that can eat them. Meep meep!

Yes, we have them, only we call them Cicada Hawks. Never been stung by one, I try to stay away from them....they are aggressive when hunting but fortunately they don't go after humans. Yellow bark scorpions are bad enough, if they sting my hand, my whole arm will go numb, my foot and my whole leg goes numb. Had one fall off the ceiling while I was asleep, fell on my chest, yep, stung me and I went to the hospital, my chest was numb and was having trouble breathing. They can be deadly.

Cloudy skies today with a high of 41°F and SW winds of 15-25mph with higher gusts being possible.

My only real goal for the day besides enjoying my last night off before I go back to work is to finally light my menorah tonight. As I haven't done that all week due to coughing way too much still when I wake up in the evening, it is finally lessening and I *can not risk that causing me to start a fire* as it won't go well for me if my dad were to find out about my in progress conversion to Judaism(he would consider that to be as big an issue as the fire).
