What is the name of your farm/ranch?

What a great thread! I've thoroughly enjoyed reading through it!

We don't really have a farm or a ranch, but what we do have is 6 wondrous acres of tumbleweeds, buffalo grass, cactus, and mesquite trees as well as 40 years worth of 'collections' left over from my in laws when we bought the place. It's definitely a work in progress, and I've loved every drop of blood and sweat we've put into it.

However, at any given time, there have been horses, sheep, goats, calves, dogs, cats, chickens and quail that have called it home. Currently, we have the chickens, dogs, cats, a rabbit and a guinea pig. Someday, I'd like to have goats, a horse, a mule, etc.

FIL referred to it as "The Ranch" when we bought it. We really are rarely home, as there's always a Little League game or band practice or school function or scouts or archery or any one of a number of other things to get to.

I dubbed the place "The Running K Ranch". Our last name starts with "K" and we're constantly on the run. Now if I could come up with a brand (as in 'cattle brand'), I'd fix up a sign for the gate.

We've always had horses on our 12 acre farmette. Added 3 donkeys about 5 yrs ago. 3 yrs ago our son decided a goat would be good to help keep the pasture clean. The following spring we added another to keep him company. That summer someone gave us 2 more and we discovered
the first one was all but blind. Last year the vet told us that our second one has arthritis. He now hobbles around on three legs. At that time our son came up with a name for
our little corner of the world.

BROKEN GOAT FARM

I'm going to try to make a sign over the winter

Well....I WANT to name this house and lot but havent come up with anything yet! I think its perfectly okay to name a home.

Also, supposed to be moving out to a small farm so this thread has been an inspiration. Thanks for starting it!

My Grandpa was raised on a farm in "Good Ole Missouri' as he called it and he was the greatest guy I ever knew. He was the youngest of 8 kids and he was a twin. Everyone called him Biddie because he was the smallest of all the kids. So in honor of him I wanted to name our place "Biddie Acres Farm".

Also, I was reading that "Biddie" is a term of endearment for a Chicken so I thought it was perfect for us.

Our house (which, to my co-workers, is a farm by virtue of being bigger than a condo) is called Newton House, as it was built by a grandchild of Sir Isaac Newton who came to the US to make money.

He made only a little money, built a medium-sized farmhouse, and found that the dirt in New England is full of very' rocks. Not so good for farming.

I just decided! Don't have a farm, have a half acre backyard. Our last name is Italian so I kind of wanted somethign Italian. I was thinking maybe "beautiful chickens" but just came up with "Rainbow Acre" I'm stretching it since our entire property is only 3/4 of an acre but I like the way it sounds- "Arcobaleno Acre"
